Fourth graders are experimenting with pinwheel turbines during science. They are testing two methods to generate energy, wind power and hydropower. They make guesses – hypothesize. Then they work in small groups through timed experiments. This is science, as a specialist class, in elementary school.

The "Live on 65" performance series will close its 2025-26 season with The Suits, a Broadway-level musical show with a talented cast of singers. Join us on Monday, May 11, at 7 p.m. in the Spring Lake Park High School Fine Arts Center. Enjoy an evening of Motown, Doo Wop, Pop, and Rock genres. It's four gentlemen, four genres, over four decades!

A day at school rarely unfolds exactly as planned. Schedules, lessons, and routines are in place – but within minutes plans can shift. A student may arrive overwhelmed. Another might need encouragement to step off the bus. A third could surprise everyone with an unexpected breakthrough. School staff understand this is part of the job. No one knows that better than a paraprofessional.

Second graders are sprawled on the floor in pairs. Some groups are working with small buckets of shapes – hexagons, trapezoids, rhombuses. Some groups have plastic coins and cards. Some have spinners. There is an air of fun and competitive excitement. This is math work places.

The school board has approved the academic calendar for the 2027–2028 school year.

The Panther Foundation’s annual Week of Giving and Panther Party raised $145,000 and counting to support activities and programs benefiting the students of Spring Lake Park Schools.

The “Live on 65” performance series welcomes Joyann Parker to the Spring Lake Park High School Fine Arts Center stage Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 7 p.m. Enjoy this accomplished singer, pianist, guitarist and songwriter with layers of soul, gospel, blues, and jazz.

When wind chills nearing 30 degrees below zero rolled through in late January, many were relieved to see school closures across the state. Behind the scenes, custodial teams were hard at work keeping buildings heated and ready for a safe return to school.

Every elementary student in Spring Lake Park Schools will spend a lot of time at school today writing.  Journaling. Informative writing. Narratives. Creative writing. Note-taking. Research. Skills elementary students will need in coming years are built step by step. With each pencil scratch and key stroke, the foundation is being laid for the future.

For some elementary families, the CARES acronym has become familiar. For others, especially those new to Spring Lake Park Schools, it’s a new acronym. CARES stands for Cooperation, Assertion, Responsibility, Empathy, and Self-Control.
